How To Use
The Body Bliss Ritual
Exfoliate and cleanse
Moisten your skin in the bath or shower and then take a scoop of body polish and scrub vigorously all over your body. Work upwards from the feet upwards over the legs paying special attention to the knees and dry areas such as ingrown hair. Move in clockwise circles over the belly and gently across the chest. Keep scrubbing the arms from the hands up towards the shoulders spending time over the elbows and reaching as far back as you can to massage it into your back. Breath in the herbs, inhale deeply of the forest aromas feeling the energy of the plants energise you as they soak into your skin.
Rinse off in the shower or if in the bath sink in and absorb the goodness for longer.
Abhyanga – Ayurvedic self-massage
Pat your skin dry and while still a little damp pour some body anoint into your palms rub them together to warm and inhale deeply. Then with long slow and intentional strokes apply the body oil downwards from your shoulders and arms, lovingly around your breasts, stopping for a moment and placing your hands on your heart breathing in deeply and feeling your chest rise and fall. Circles around the belly and go on apply a drop in your belly button in the Ayurvedic way. Down with long sweeping movements over your legs one hand following the other and finally your feet. Massage the middle of your sole, this is the Marma acupressure point for boosting circulation.
Heal your hands
Take some hand balm and massage it into your cuticles, nails and hands making your hands supple and soft. Massage the Marma point on the middle of your wrist, under the thumb joint, this helps increase the flow of Prana life force and stimulating Agni or the digestive fire in the body.
Affirmation
Finally stand quietly for a moment and make an affirmation for yourself choosing one of the below for Kapha or your own.
- My mind is clear and calm
- I am brave, I am resilient, I am strong
- I celebrate my connection to the earth

Body scrub is a loose mixture, which I am not used to, but it leaves a smooth and soft finish. The oil seeps into the skin and does not leave a sticky or slippery feeling. The hand cream gives an intensive treatment for dry skin and leaves my skin feeling soft and cared for.

The body oil is so moisturising and the scents leave me feeling relaxed. Hand cream is rich and moisturising but not too greasy. The scrub is good, but I find the texture difficult to work with. I’d prefer a substance that rubs more into the skin, say if it’s mixed with an oil already.
